Traveling Skirt Part 1
You’ve read or seen the movie “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants”, right? If you haven’t, you should, but anyways, 6 photographers and I have teamed up to form our own Traveling Skirt Project. Last week, the skirt came to this New Cumberland Photographer for my turn at making some images special. The skirt started in Texas then traveled to Oregon and Minnesota, Michigan and New York before arriving in Pennsylvania last week for me to photograph.
The photographers that came before me with the skirt set the bar quite high with their vision and resulting images. I decided to go with a Coffee, Candy and Cake theme and started with the coffee shop. I contacted Wade at Brew Crumberland’s Best for the perfect location. My majorSENIORS Crew member, Kayden, was perfect to model in the coffee shop.
We started out in the back area of the coffee shop while Kayden got situated in the skirt and enjoyed her iced coffee.
The front window offered amazing light for pictures, coffee sipping and book reading. We moved a couple of tables and chairs to get Kayden into the corner bench.
I had planned the sessions indoors for 2 reasons. One, we’ve had so much rain this summer, I didn’t want to chance having the skirt and not being able to get my shoots done because of the weather and two because this theme of coffee, candy and cake really struck me as something fun to do with the skirt while I had it.
So, there you have it. Part one of my traveling Skirt series. Stay tuned to my blog next week for part 2 and a link to the other photographers.
