I can’t believe that we are already into April and I haven’t introduced you to my Class of 2020 majorSENIORS Crew! Time is flying by. We had our first meeting/photoshoot WAY back in February.
What is the Class of 2020 majorSENIORS Crew, you ask? GREAT QUESTION! You can check out more information about it on my FAQ page. Basically it’s my way of gathering a group of girls that may not have met each other in daily life together and building them up! Girls are mean. School is tough and we can ALL us more cheerleaders in our corner. That’s where I and the majorSENIORS Crew come in! We build each other up, cheer each other on and have extra people to turn to when our daily lives aren’t going as planned. Oh, and they get extra photo shoots throughout the year as well. So when this group of 10 girls graduates, they will have tons of images of themselves and their new friends, built up confidence and courage and lots of new experiences!
This year, I rented a studio space in Dillsburg so we didn’t have to freeze outside or try to cram my largest majorSENIORS Crew yet into my living room. I was so excited for everyone to meet each other and I still hadn’t met some of them in person, either. This group of girls is very eclectic. We’ve got many shapes, sizes, nationalities and religions. I’m excited to learn more about each of these girls and where they come from.
My assistant, my daughter’s BFF and I set up and decorated. We had pizza and cupcakes and snacks. When the girls arrived, they each got a SWAG bag of goodies and their majorSENIORS Crew t-shirt. Some girls found that they knew each other and actually went to the same school. We all grabbed some food and started getting to know each other. Jobs, sports, boyfriends and more. I so love learning about my girls (that’s what they become when they join mSC. I have 2 daughters, but my crew is my girls). They are all so different and come from different backgrounds and I learn so much every time we chat!
Then we started taking some pictures. We started in their favorite outfit to hopefully make them feel a little bit more comfortable in front of the camera. I loved how they all interacted with each other while I was shooting. Like they were old friends.
We then moved on to some in the new majorSENIORS Crew shirts for the Class of 2020. With 10 girls we struggled to get them all squeezed into the picture but I’m happy with all of their smiles.
It was around Valentine’s Day and because I’m not a fan of that day, I had them all write something that they love about themselves on a blackboard and we photographed that!
Overall, I think it was a successful day and it was certainly full of fun and laughter and beautiful smiling faces! I’m so looking forward to the next year with these girls and seeing them grow.
